Beyoncé's new single, 'Break My Soul', includes nods to a '90s house classic in Robin S' 'Show Me Love'.
'Break My Soul', which is out today, includes melodies distinctly created on the Korg M1 synth, which gave Stonebridge's iconic 1993 remix of Robin S' 1990 track its much-loved sound. Beyoncé's song, which also samples Big Freedia's 2014 track 'Explode', is the first to be unveiled from her forthcoming seventh studio album, 'Renaissance', which will be released on 29th July.
Beyoncé, The-Dream, Tricky Stewart, BlaqNmilD (who produced 'Explode') and Jay-Z are all listed as producers on 'Break My Soul'. Fred McFarlane, the US songwriter who wrote 'Show Me Love', has a co-writer credit on the new track.
