Fans of Anderson .Paak got a special gift on Friday. The Grammy-winning singer dropped the Hit-Boy produced “Cut Em In” featuring Rick Ross. The track comes on the heels of Paak’s Black Lives Matter protest-inspired single “Lockdown,” and subsequent remix with JID, Noname, and Jay Rock.
It’s been a quietly eventful few weeks for Rick Ross. The Miami MC appears fresh off the 10th anniversary of his Teflon Don album, a Verzuz battle appearance with 2 Chainz, and his politically-charged single “Pinned to the Cross.” Ross also made a guest appearance on Curren$y’s “Mugello Red.”
The track will appear on the Madden NFL 21 soundtrack. The game’s full soundtrack includes tracks from Big K.R.I.T., EarthGang, and Denzel Curry.
Anderson .Paak has also been a busy man as of late. In addition to the protest-inspired “Lockdown,” he voiced the character Prince D, Prince of the Funk Trolls in DreamWorks’ Trolls World Tour alongside Kelly Clarkson, Ozzy Osbourne, and George Clinton. Paak also contributed to six tracks on the film’s soundtrack. In addition to his Justin Timberlake-assisted single “Don’t Slack,” Paak also appears on Clinton’s “Atomic Dog World Tour Remix” with Parliament-Funkadelic and Mary J. Blige.
