The legendary MC will release his solo debut for streaming in celebration of the album’s 20th anniversary.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut album, Pharoahe Monch announced on Twitter that Internal Affairs would be coming to streaming services on October 18th. He added that limited edition vinyl copies would be available for purchase as well.
Internal Affairs was released on October 10th, 1999. The album was led by the single “Simon Says,” which sampled the Godzilla theme. Toho, the company that owned the rights to the song, sued Rawkus, and the song was removed from the album. After Rawkus Records was acquired by Priority by Universal Music Group, Monch refused to record for Geffen Records. Because of these circumstances, the album has been out of print for years.
