Event Description

Let's face it. Things aren't going great: a bad economy, a horrible job market, never ending wars, exorbitant rent prices, dysfunctional relationships, mental illness, addiction, poverty, corruption, STDs, Rihanna. While there isn't a cure for all of life's problems, there is a tonic. . .

MISERY INDEX is a free, monthly show that brings together some of the most pessimistic, neurotic & dysfunctional individuals on the face of the planet: stand-up comedians. Take the edge off with cheap drinks and free laughs as these choleric comics direct their disdain towards all of society's growing ills.

May's lineup features maladjusted mirth makers Caitlin Gill (Outside Lands), John Hoogasian (Comedy Central), Ray Molina (Comedy Space), Loren Kraut (SF Sketchfest), Johnny Taylor (Cobb's) and Daniel Humbarger (Punch Line). Hosted by Trevor Hill (Hand to Mouth).

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV.
