blasthaus presents
THE FUTURE002 with
KODE9 & SPACEAPE (Live)
THE FLYING SKULLS
103 Harriet Street / SF
10pm - after / 21+ up / http://www.blasthaus.com

It's back to the future, and this time we bring Hyperdub's main man, KODE9 performing a live set with the engimatic SPACEAPE, who occupies a highly regarded space in the ranks of dubstep MCs. KODE9's hyperdub sound is difficult to define, sometimes with beats, sometimes without, sometimes with a vocalist, sometimes without - the only continuity is the heavy sub bass. Currently, Kode9's sets travel through a selection of sub-bass driven, heavy skank with off-key synths, drawing from the best of UK underground scenes such as dubstep, grime, UK house and garage. Additional talent TBA. Stay tuned, it's gonna be crack!

PLUS! The record release party for THE FLYING SKULLS, a nu-school three piece that plays live improvisational dub-step, breaks, and electro! The group brings the future-soundz of the modern dance music studio and interpolates them through the filter of live improv. With an old school jazz ethos The Skulls combine their tightly-honed electronic and hiphop infused sonic orchestra in a most dirty and crunked-out way. On July 10th, we’re celebrating their record release for their new album, Take Flight, on 1320 Records. If you haven’t checked these guys out, now is the time, they’re one of the hottest acts coming out on the dub-step tip and blowing up faster than you can say July 10!

$10 limited advance tickets onsale now ($2.52 service charge applies) / 9:00pm - after / 21+ up / http://www.blasthaus.com
