A common thread runs from Dubrovnik to Vukovar, passing through Belgrade, touching lightly Tirana and Athens. A thread flowing underwater touching Brindisi and passing through the Mediterranean, skimming the Andalusia coast. A thread moves on guitar and violin chords, rebounds on leather drums, curving on the accordion keys. The knot of these connections is Taluna. A band formed by four musicians with different roots and backgrounds, moving their first steps in 2008 in Turin (Italy). An immigrant’s city becomes a meltin’pot of Central Europe and North Africa cultures. GAIA MOBILIJ, Calabrian lyre and accordion; MARCO GHEZZO, violin; LUCA RUSSO, acoustic guitar; PEPPINO LEONE, percussions and traditional Southern Italian frame drums are the means of this mental, spatial and musical voyage – between gipsy and sephardic sounds, Balcans syncopated rhythms and the obsessed tarantella.
