pOETiqbEETz was born December 3rd, 1976 and raised in Oakland, CA and ever since he was a young child he have had a passion for music. Even though he wanted to be a Lego toy
designer… He listened to music with his mother and friends, reading record covers fueling his passion for music. As he got older, his calling for music grew stronger.

He would draw from a wealth of influences including De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest, The Wu-Tang Clan, Busta Rhymes, Gangstarr, and a host of others. Currently using an arsenal of drum machines and sound modules including the MPC-2000, an Expanded E-MU MP-7, Logic Pro 9, and a host of plug-ins, pOETiq knows no limits to what he is musically capable of. As a producer, he created a sound that makes it hard to put a single style. His production influences are practically innumerable, able to blend his unique style of production with Jazz, Classical, Folk Music. Musically, He has been compared to a number of producers including Dr. Dre, Jay Dee (of Slum Village), DJ Hi Tek, DJ Premiere, and more.

pOETiq has worked on a number of albums since he started working professionally in 96. He has worked on projects with En Vogue, Kiraly Linda, Savina, Noelle, and others. In Rap/Hip- Hop, he has done work for The Team, Bill Stack, Lady L.U.S.T., Kandi Cole, Carl B., E-40, The Conscious Daughters, Planet Asia, Rasco, Verbal Tactiks, and a host of local artists. In Gospel music, He worked with Kathi Mills and Lawrence Matthews and even produced music for the Children’s Choir and The Youth & Young Adult Choir at the Paradise Baptist Church where he was once one of the choir directors.

Also notable, pOETiq is currently a 17-time beat battle champion across the state of CA and into the Las Vegas area as well. He has also been a semifinalist in major level competitions, such as the ASCAP Expo Producer Showcase, the Bay Area Producer’s Conference, and Red Bull Big Tune.

HITMAKERS

In 2008 HITMAKERS released his debut production album called "Life In 3D" which featured artists from all over the world. He has worked on projects with New Day, a new wave hip-hop group from the bay area, Mistah Fab and others, and has been the executive producer for their last two albums. Recently he has been working with Sean Kingston and his artist Tory Lanez.

In 2008 & 2010 HITMAKERS competed in the Red Bull Big Tune beat battle, making it to the national finals in each contest. He has had many productions featured in various television shows including: Melrose Place, Greek, 10 Things I Hate About You, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, The Real World, Khloe and Lamar, etc.
