Event Description

Up From the Underground is a fundraiser to support groundbreaking work around youth leadership, arts and music culture.

Come out and support Roots and Branches youth-led community-building collective. With performances by Baybe Champ, Bumpitythump, DJ BASTA and more. Plus live screen-printing by Keith Magruder.

Grant funding has been extra competitive in 2009. We have applied for more grants and been awarded less. So we are pursuing other forms of fundraising to help bankroll our events.

Just in time for the Holiday Season, Roots and Branches will be presenting a new line of custom merchandise:
-Hand Screen-printed T-Shirts, Hooded Sweatshirts and Tote Bags
-60 page Program Overview Book
-Sound System Vol. 3 CD

All of the proceeds go to support Roots and Branches free community building events programming in Oakland, CA.
