The Free Agent, Joell Ortiz, Returns to SOB's November 9th.

Buzz worthy Hip-Hop artist Joell Ortiz brings a true inside view of life in the projects of New York City without adding glitz and glam to the rough life led by the people who inhabit the city. Critically acclaimed, the emcee returns to one of his favorite spots, SOB's for a night of true hip hop.

Ortiz released his debut album, The Brick (Bodega Chronicles), in 2007 on E1 Music. The album centered on his dense, rhyme-based work, and featured notable collaborations with SOB's alumni Styles P, Akon and the legendary Big Daddy Kane. The Brick was met with considerable critical acclaim, landing Ortiz features in numerous hip-hop and mainstream publications including a much sought after “Leader of the New School” cover story for XXL Magazine, along with Papoose, Crooked I, Saigon, Lupe Fiasco and others.

Soldiering on, Ortiz is currently working on his eagerly anticipated follow-up "Free Agent". He will preview some of the albums songs as well as an array of material from his previous releases.

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV.
