DJ Quest
Influenced by the hip-hop and electro styles of the early 80’s, DJ Quest has contributed to the DJ's art form by bringing a more aggressive scratch tactic to the battle scene. DJ Quest, featured in documentary SCRATCH, coined “Hamster Style,” a unique technique of reversing the set up of turntables into a mixer to facilitate new styles of scratching. Quest is one of the founding members of Bullet Proof Scratch Hamsters/Space Travelerz and a veteran of the DMC, New Music Seminar and countless other battles. DJ Quest has also expanded musical horizons by forming the San Francisco based experimental jazz-hip-hop trio, Livehuman. On the road, Quest has also accompanied Latyrx (Quannum Projects), The Bomb Hip-Hop DJ’s, Future Primitive Sound Session and Space Travelerz and Mike Patton’s Peeping Tom. Quest has also collaborated on recordings with: Dan “The Automator” (Handsome Boy Modeling School), Blackalicious, Rob Swift (Xecutioners), Z Man (One Block Radius), Sacred Hoop, Eddie K, Topper, DJ Zeph, DJ Q Bert (Do It Yourself vol. 2), Wide Hive collective Variable Unit and The DJ Project.

Roy Two Thousand
Both a self taught guitarist and a DJ armed with a massive collection of classic funk and soul records inherited from his Detroit-bred mother, Roy Two Thousand pushes the limits of what one man can do with old and new music technologies to create the dance party of a lifetime. He has brought the soundsystem technique of classic dub culture together with rock, hip hop, and funk-infused electronica, creating a unique sound and vision of what dance music can be.

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV. Two kids not much older than him were on the screen — backwards clothes, fearless energy, commanding the world. It was Kris Kross performing “Jump.”And in that moment, something clicked. It wasn’t just the beat.It wasn’t just the crowd. It was the power. From that day forward, Prentice didn’t just listen to hip-hop — he became it.He sharpened his pen studying legends.…See More
