Emergence Music Series SF -- Featuring Kev Choice Ensemble and J Myers

Two of the Most Talented “Live Urban” Artists Around Throw Down in Concert

Hip-hop’s emerging musicality continues to advance with Emergence Music Series’ fifth independently-produced showcase featuring two of the most dynamic hip-hop musicians around. Headliner Kev Choice, former musical director for Lauryn Hill and winner of the 2009 East Bay Express readers’ poll for “Best Musician” combines conscious, progressive and authentic lyricism with serious jazz, funk, soul and R&B chops, delivered onstage by the full, ten-piece edition of the Kev Choice Ensemble, a collective of some of the Bay’s most talented-up and coming musicians/producers/artists in their own right. Guitarist, emcee, singer and producer J Myers, who produced two tracks on Nas' most recent album and was featured as a spotlight artist on "BET’s 106 & Park" brings musical influences from Ernie Isley to Tony Toni Tone to his original, soul-infused sound. With talents such as these, plus DJ BeatsMe (Distortion 2 Static), Emergence SF is a can’t-miss show which brings live music back to the foreground of the urban club scene. The concert will also be webcasted by Gershoni Sound and featured on LiveVenu.com, making Emergence accessible via Internet streaming to music fans outside of the Bay Area.
