On this night dr. ISRAEL will be playing with live drummer CLIFF TUNE (Con Brio & Artemis). He’ll be performing live versions from his newly remixed Ghetto defendant EP, (whose release we’ll be celebrating) along with a selection of his original hit tunes of classic dancehall, roots reggae, dub and dubstep in a special high energy sound system show.

dr. Israel is a Brooklyn based revolutionary artist, with releases on ROIR Records, Wordsound, and MOD Tech, as well as collaborations and remixes with legends such as Bill Laswell, Mad Professor, Dr No, Sepultura, Rancid, Sublime, Lee Perry, Bernie Worrell, DJ Krush, and beyond.  He has received accolades from Rolling Stone, Vibe, LA Times, and Village Voice, among others.  Following up on a long and fruitful discography including ‘Inna City Pressure’ and ‘Dreadtone International’, as well as vocals and writing on Method of Defiance ‘Jahbulon’, and Lee Scratch Perry ‘Rise Again’, dr. Israel is launching an ongoing series of releases, titled ‘The Liberation Chronicles’.  Told through the music and various media related to the project, the story depicts the victory of creativity and love over politics and violence.

The first release in the series, ‘Ghetto Defendant’ was released in January. A multi-media series telling the tale of a dreadlocked insurrectionist battling an evil post corporate empire, the EP contains five powerful songs that fuse dub, dancehall, reggae, rock, dubstep, and hip-hop elements, with commanding hook oriented vocals to create a futuristic musical blend. The remix album, to be released this November, includes bass heavy re-envisioned versions of the original tunes, from producers such as Mochipet, KJ Sawka, Kush Arora, Systemwide, Process Rebel, Tore Finstad, DJ Olive, and Papa Skunk.

Vintage The Audio Honors Loss and Legacy with “Good Times” — A Soulful Ode to Resilience

Some songs hit harder not because they’re loud, but because they’re real. Vintage The Audio, aka V.T.A, delivers exactly that with his latest single, “Good Times”—a poignant and powerful track that captures the ache of grief and the light that somehow still shines through.Released on April 18, fittingly Good Friday, “Good Times” is more than just a tribute. It’s a…See More

Single: "Maneater” by John Alex Gatsby

"Maneater” is the second single off John Alex Gatsby’s debut album Mayday, dropping May 16. With an infectious groove and a nostalgic edge, the track pulses with upbeat energy while telling the tale of a heartbreak woman who leaves nothing behind. Gatsby’s smooth vocals echo the warning: “Oh here she comes, she gone take your heart and use up all your love... Have you ever seen the devil wear chanel?” Blending throwback vibes with a modern twist, “Maneater” reimagines the femme fatale story…See More
