On Thursday, May 16, 2013., Massive Selector is proud to present the San Francisco premiere of "DOIN' IT IN THE PARK: PICK-UP BASKETBALL, NYC" an independent documentary directed by Bobbito Garcia and Kevin Couliau at the historic Clay Theatre, 2261 Fillmore Street in San Francisco. The film explores the definition, history, culture, and social impact of New York’s summer b-ball scene, widely recognized as the worldwide “Mecca” of the sport. Featuring basketball superstars and legends: Julius "Dr. J" Erving, Kenny Smith, Kenny Anderson, Richard "Crazy Legs" Colon, and the Park Pick-Up Players of NYC. Director Bobbito Garcia will be in attendance for an intimate Q&A following the film.

ABOUT BOBBITO GARCIA
NYC native and world-renowned DJ Bobbito Garcia is the critically acclaimed author of Where’d You Get Those? NYC’s Sneaker Culture: 1960-1987 (Testify Books). In recent years, “Kool Bob Love” has done sideline reporting for the NY Knicks on MSG Network, voiced NBA 2K video games, and has hosted ESPN2’s It’s the Shoes series. In 2007, he designed seven signature Nike Air Force 1 25th Anniversary sneakers. In 2012, Garcia and Kevin Couliau co-directed the documentary Doin’ It In The Park: Pick-Up Basketball, NYC (www.doinitinthepark.com). Currently, he is the play-by-play announcer for the Boost Mobile Elite 24 Game on ESPNU and the Red Bull King of the Rock Championship on CBS Sports, and tours the world spinning records at various sponsored events for Red Bull, Nike, and Fania Records, among others.
