Event Description

FUX ENT.
presents Co-LAB (Local Artist Basement) "The Oakland Renaissance", is a
show that targets Bay Area grown local talent behind one band in a
night of filled with live music, MIXTAPE STYLE! “The Oakland
Renaissance” is not a depiction or duplication of other movements
as this is a culture of Oakland. This is one of the first nationwide
showcases for poets, visual artists and musicians to perform raw, streetwise
material without censorship or interference. Co-LAB vol. 2 "The Oakland Renaissance" will
capture the essence of the glamorous and not so glamorous side of the
art scene in Oakland.
In
the second rendition of Co-LAB vol. 2 "The Oakland Renaissance", we are
featuring up and coming artist, Fiona Simone, who will be dropping her
new Album entitled "Ladies Room." Check her out @ www.myspace.com/fionasimone & or http://tomboyfreshness.ning.com

Co-LAB (Local Artist Basement) artist also include: Isis Genisis, SiairaShawn,
Ms. K, NU Dacades, Do D.A.T., Michelangelo, Jonah (So Timeless), Sean
Bo, Krystle Azul and a guest appearance by League 510 all backed behind
the Co-LAB house band.

"The Oakland Renaissance” will thrive and get fire from
the controversy of being truthful with the city of Oakland, while showing
why Oakland is the Heart and Soul Of The Bay Area. If there is a message that
needs to get out to the masses then a member of “The Oakland Renaissance"
will give it to you raw and uncut…from an edgy, yet literary perspective.
We dare not to be imitators, rather, initiators of a old sound but with a new flavor.

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV. Two kids not much older than him were on the screen — backwards clothes, fearless energy, commanding the world. It was Kris Kross performing “Jump.”And in that moment, something clicked. It wasn’t just the beat.It wasn’t just the crowd. It was the power. From that day forward, Prentice didn’t just listen to hip-hop — he became it.He sharpened his pen studying legends.…See More
