Event Description

Join us for a dance party celebrating the music and culture of Brazil. Every 3rd Saturday The Rocksteady hosts live percussion courtesy of BATALA San Francisco.

Batukada is a substyle of samba and refers to fast paced, African influenced Brazilian percussions performed by a live drum troupe!

A division of worldwide BATALA, the bateria is led by Abel Damasceno, a native of Salvador, Bahia who teaches Brazilian drumming at Casa de Cultura in Berkeley, CA.
