Kevin Saunderson of Inner City shares the story behind Inner City's 1988 house hit, ‘Good Life’. The Detroit techno pioneer reflects on his early days, from formative club experiences to getting into DJing and producing his own music. Inner City formed in 1987, a band led by Saunderson which would be home for more vocal-led projects. After ‘Big Fun’ broke the charts in 1988, 'Good Life' arrived as a highly sought-after follow-up, going to become an all-time anthem in its own right. Looking back on its creation, release and legacy, Saunderson tells us about the studio process, appearances on Top of the Pops, how it felt performing the track 30 years later at Glastonbury, and how Inner City is still going strong. In our series, DJ Mag explores the tales behind some of the world's favourite dance tracks, told by the people that made them.
