Vocalist Tiffany Austin performs Ella Fitzgerald’s signature song “A-Tisket, A-Tasket” from 1938 during her SFJAZZ Family Matinee program “The Power of the Voice,” broadcast at sfjazz.org on May 9, 2021, 11am (PT).

Vocalist and composer Tiffany Austin has quickly become a force in jazz, with an ebullient style and soulful eloquence that honor the vocal greats while pushing forward in search of new territory. Her 2018 release, Unbroken (on the Con Alma Music label), celebrates the indelible link between jazz and the blues, and showcases her talents in the lineage of Bessie Smith and Betty Carter.
For this performance titled “The Power of the Voice,” Austin is joined by an all-star trio including pianist Tammy L. Hall, bassist Marcus Shelby, and drummer Leon Joyce, Jr., along with special guest vocalist Tai-Ge Min.
