Since 1994, Oakland Faders co-founder DJ Spair has worked hard to
earn his status as one of the top ranked and most sought after Hip
Hop DJ’s in the Bay Area. Best known for his party rocking and
mixtape talents, DJ Spair defeated over 150 competitors and took
first place in the 1999 URB Magazine Mixtape Competition. This
accomplishment earned him a record deal with Stray Records. The
subsequent vinyl release, 2000's Fader Beats, was a success,
garnering critical acclaim and brisk sales. Unfortunatley, the
label folded shortly after the EP hit the streets. Currently DJ
Spair dominates the San Francisco club scene, spinning at major
venues and opening for such artists as Mix Master Mike,
Hieroglyphics, MF Doom, and the Roots. He’s featured on the world
famous DJ Qbert’s instructional DVD, DIY Vol. 2, showcasing his
flawless scratching techniques. In 2003, Spair won an acceptance
into the Red Bull Music Academy in Capetown, South Africa, where he
gained further recognition for his production skills and DJing
abilities. DJ Spair's mixtapes have circulated all over the world,
and his music can be heard on numerous releases including Streets,
San Francisco from Independent Trucks, Billy Jam's Scratch Attack
Vol. 3, and Bas One’s For The Mentally Astute.

Threats, coercion, and fear characterized my home environment. Systemic responses mandated therapy and imposed medication, resulting in a…See More
