Ye takes out an ad in The Wall Street Journal to apologize for his anti-Semitic actions and wants "to earn your forgiveness."
On Monday (Jan. 26) the rapper posted an apology "To Those I've Hurt" in the newspaper. In the open letter he paid for, Ye details his 2002 car accident, in which he was left with a broken jaw. He says the accident at the time left him with a frontal-lobe injury that wasn’t properly diagnosed until 2023, and ultimately damaged his mental health and led to his bipolar type-1 diagnosis.
Ye admits he "lost touch with reality" over the years. In 2022, he made a slew of Anti-Semitic statements and promoted offensive imagery while also selling it. Now, West insists he "did things I deeply regret." He also apologizes to the Black community.
