From the well known 1967 version by Otis Redding & Carla Thomas, and Lowell Fulson's 1966 original, to 1968's "The Champ" by The Mohawks, the Salute The Sample crew dissect the legendary break, and its impact on Hip-Hop.
"Tramp" or some variation has been sampled by LL COOL J, EPMD, KRS-One, Salt N Pepa, Onyx, The Wu-Tang Clan, Lord Finesse, Grand Puba and many others from Hip-Hop's sample heavy mid 80s thru mid 90s era. Check out "Tramps & Champs Pt.1" above.
