It’s still relatively early in H.E.R.’s career but she’s already a regular. The singer has won four Grammy awards, including a Best Traditional R&B Performance award for “Fight for You” earlier in the evening. And over the last couple of years she’s hit the stage multiple times, performing “Hard Place” in 2019 and “Sometimes” in 2020.
This year she decided to do something a little different H.E.R. just performed at the Grammys, doing a medley of songs. She performed her hits “Damage” and “We Made It.” And then things turned up. After rocking out on the drums she was joined by Lenny Kravitz and did a cover of his classic “Are You Gonna Go My Way.” Also assisting H.E.R. with the performance were legends like Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis and Travis Barker.
H.E.R. came into the evening with eight Grammy nominations, tied with Doja Cat and Justin Bieber for the second most. Jon Batiste — who would win Album of the Year — came into the night with the most nominations, 11.
