Thud Rumble unveiled their new project with the Intel Edison Chip at the Maker Faire in San Mateo. They've embedded the chips into turntables, mixers, midi controllers, and other instruments that would otherwise require the control of a laptop and have transformed them into standalone banks.
This new technology, although the technology is in it's first stages, it's on the way to removing the laptop from musicians setups and allowing them bring their eyes off the screen and back onto the console where it began.
Many thanks to DJ's Umami, Goldenchyld, Hard Rich, YogaFrog, and Q Bert for sharing their thoughts!
