The Urban Renewal Project Drop New Hit Single "Money” ft. Oh No

Los Angeles based 16-piece collective The Urban Renewal Project just released a captivating new single titled “Money” featuring Oh No. The band is known for their genre-bending adventurous sound, combining elements of Jazz, hip-hop, and vintage soul for an explosive and unique listen. The Urban Renewal Project combines fresh grooves with fiery big-band horn lines and smooth hip-hop rhymes, creating something simultaneously nostalgic and boundary-pushing. R.W. shares the inspiration behind the single, “we meditate on every facet of the nature of money, as a symbol of hope and opportunity but also of greed and vice, and in this way, it aligns very nicely with the themes of the album. Is money a blessing or a burden? Glory? Duty? Both?”

The Urban Renewal Project have received acclaim from the likes of HiphopDX, Earmilk and have captivated audiences around the world from SXSW to the Java Jazz Festival.

The Urban Renewal Project is a 16-piece collective known for its genre-bending original music, combining elements of jazz, hip hop and vintage soul into a signature sound that has captivated audiences around the world from SXSW to the Java Jazz Festival. The ensemble features the vocal talents of singer Alex Nester, dual emcees Elmer Demond and Slim da Reazon, and a face-melting ten-piece horn section. Building off the success of recent singles “Will to Survive” featuring Vic Mensa & “Don’t Ask Y” featuring Camp Lo, the group is now releasing its fourth studio album Love Glory Duty Death on October 24.

Their latest single “Money” featuring Oh No is a riveting and explosive contemplation on all that is money. R.W. shares, “We meditate on every facet of the nature of money—as a symbol of hope and opportunity but also of greed and vice—and in this way, it aligns very nicely with the themes of the album. Is money a blessing or a burden? Glory? Duty? Both?”
