As celebrations of Hip-Hop's 50th anniversary continue, The Sugar Hill Gang, Doug E. Fresh, and Rob Base performed on ABC's The View earlier today and spoke about the culture's enduring legacy, as well as their entries into Hip-Hop.

"To be honest, me and Chill Will started in Lincoln Projects," Doug E. Fresh explained. "Barry Bee who is also part of the Get Fresh Crew saw me doing the beat box and suggested that I do it outside, and that's how it started."

Master Gee, an original member of The Sugar Hill Gang, whose song "Rapper's Delight" is credited as the first commercially successful rap record, shared his experience with host Sunni Hostin.

"It has become an amazing situation to be from where we started with just Wonder Mike, Hank, and myself to now becoming a global phenomenon is mind blowing," he said.
