The era of legendary hip-hop group Run-DMC is coming to an end. As the 50th anniversary of hip-hop approaches, group member Darryl “DMC” McDaniels spoke to Rock the Bells about the conclusion of Run-DMC, announcing the group’s final show in the spring.
“Run-D.M.C. is over. The only way Run-D.M.C. gets back together is if The Beatles get back together. Can that happen?” said McDaniels, 58.
McDaniels teased the the group’s final performance would also be a tribute to their hometown of New York City. The storied legacy of Run-DMC includes their landmark albums King of Rock, Raising Hell and a cameo appearance in 1985 film Krush Groove.
