Rah Digga is the latest hip-hop legend to share her Brooklyn story in A Breukelen Story, the 14-track collaborative project between veteran emcee, Masta Ace, and renowned producer Marco Polo.
Though a New Jersey native, Rah delved into to early days of her time visiting Brooklyn to record music during her burgeoning rap career in the mid-’90s.
“I spent a lot of time in Brooklyn catching the train from Jersey to BK before I became the ‘signed’ artist,” Rah says in the video. “I definitely did a lot of the ‘please, listen to my demo.'”
The first lady of Flipmode Squad talks about meeting her manager who was based out of the Biggie‘s old block on Fulton and St. James. She also gives a shout out to famed hood favorite, Kum Kau Chinese food restaurant nearby on Mrytle Ave.
