Portishead are set to play their first live show in some seven years next month in support of Ukraine.
The one-off show, titled Help! A War Child Benefit, will be hosted by UK charity War Child, an organisation helping to protect, educate and fundraise for children affected by war.
Portishead are due to play alongside the likes of IDLES, Billy Nomates, Katy J Pearson, Heavy Lungs and Wilderman at the daytime event, taking place on bank holiday Monday, May 2.
“We are really pleased to be able to support the people of Ukraine by performing a few songs at this event in collaboration with the amazing War Child charity,” Portishead said on the event.
The show is set to take place at Bristol’s O2 Academy, Portishead’s first in seven years. The band’s last live performance saw them take to the stage in 2015 at Barcelona’s Benicàssim festival.
Tickets for the show are capped at 1,200 and will be raffled off, drawn between April 7 and April 24. Each £10 donated applies for three separate entries with all proceeds going toward War Child, matched by the UK Government.
