How could any NFL owner possibly explain this kind of behavior to fans?

The Colin Kaepernick Foundation announced its latest bundle of donations Wednesday. With $100,000 slated for three charitable organizations, Kaepernick has now donated $800,000 since last fall.

In May, Giants owner John Mara told MMQB why some teams might not rush to sign the free-agent quarterback who started the polarizing national anthem protests last summer in a demonstration against racial injustice, police brutality, and mass incarceration.

"All my years being in the league, I never received more emotional mail from people than I did about that issue: 'If any of your players ever do that, we are never coming to another Giants game,'" Mara said of not standing for the anthem. "It wasn't one or two letters. It was a lot. It's an emotional, emotional issue for a lot of people, more so than any other issue I've run into."

Mara and other NFL owners seem to be listening to those letters, and in doing so, they ignore everything else Kaepernick is doing.

What about other letters from other fans, who might actually support and commend Kaepernick's altruistic acts over the last year? The work he's done off the field has gotten a sliver of the attention his kneeling for "The Star-Spangled Banner" continues to receive, even while he's out of football.
