LL COOL J FILES LAWSUIT AGAINST ‘ROCK THE BELLS’ FESTIVAL

LL Cool J filed a trademark lawsuit against the Rock the Bells Hip Hop festival founded by Chang Weisberg, as per The Blast.
The Hip-Hop veteran claims that Weisberg and promoter Guerilla Union, Inc. tried to file the trademark two decades after he released the song of the same name. The suit says that they filed the trademark without permission, and LL petitioned to cancel all of Guerilla Union’s trademarks and his request was granted.
The entertainer says the company still made efforts to trademark the name. He is now asking for an injunction prohibiting the promoter and founder from using the name.
“Rock the Bells” was the third single on LL Cool J’s debut album, Radio, released in 1985. He also launched Rock the Bells Radio in March on Sirius XM.
