Fresh off her Dirty Computer world tour, the artist recorded a soft and soulful rendition of Bob Marley and The Wailer’s 1975 song “High Tide Or Low Tide” at Spotify Studios in New York City.
The Spotify session also included a live version of her track, “I Like That” off her multi-disciplinary album, Dirty Computer released in April.
Monáe will also appear in an upcoming Harriet Tubman biopic, Harriet, alongside British actress Cynthia Erivo who will play Tubman. She’ll also have a voice role and record original music for the upcoming animated feature UglyDolls, and will appear in Robert Zemeckis’s Welcome to Marwen film starring Steve Carrell.
