For those that may not be familiar, Vanderslice is a sample-savvy Hip-Hop producer with the respect of Heads (especially crate-diggers) across the map. He has rocked tracks with celebrated MCs like Vinnie Paz, Evidence, Planet Asia, Roc Marciano, Apathy, and the various members of Infamous Mobb. This Phoenixville, Pennsylvania native is known for cooking up sounds tailor-made to the lyricist. When he dropped the single “Hardbody Karate” with Big Twins, Conway The Machine, and the late, great Prodigy last Fall, ears perked up. Not only was it one of P’s hardest-hitting verses in recent memory, it is the last stanza the QB legend ever spit. All of sudden ‘Slice’s upcoming project The Best Album Money Can Buy was on people’s radar.
Fast-forward to now and the 10-song LP has officially dropped and is making waves. The tracklist is a literal who’s who of Hip-Hop heroes, vet and new alike. Wu-Tang Clan’s Ghostface Killah opens the album with “The Best Interlude Money Can Buy,” a vicious verbal barrage that sets the tone. Then on “Thugs Need Hugs” Blueprint tells a crazy story about swallowing one’s pride over some fly strings. ‘Slice supplies Freddie Gibbs with the classic West Coast thump that the Midwest-reppin,’ Cali’-based MC kills on “My Neighborhood.”
