An international film fest favorite and triple Audience Award winner, Inside the Circle goes deep inside the lives of b-boys to find a community of acceptance, respect, hope and creativity. "Fascinating, heartbreaking, and ultimately inspiring" (www.austinist.com), this coming-of-age story has moved audiences around the world. The film tells the story of two talented b-boys, Josh and Omar, former best friends who become rivals when they join competing dance crews. As Josh tangles repeatedly with the law, Omar rises to international renown over the objections of his traditional Mexican-American father. Both of them struggle to keep dance at the center of their lives and the "B-Boy City" competitive events thrown by visionary street dancer Romeo Navarro serve as emotional milestones in their journey to adulthood. As Romeo aptly observes: "If you can hold yourself down in battle, you can hold yourself down in life."
Inside the Circle: A B-Boy Chronicle (Cinema Libre Studio) DVD includes bonus features: B-Boy City Battle Highlights; CROS1: Freestylin' It, trailer and more! Directed by Marcy Garriott.
