BLUE LIVES MATTER GROUP SILENT AFTER TWO BLACK POLICE OFFICERS ARE KILLED

BY TIFFANY HAMILTON • OCTOBER 25, 2018

A family of a second Black officer in South Carolina is mourning after the officer died after succumbing to injuries sustained in the line of duty after a white domestic terrorist went on a shooting spree earlier this month.

According to published reports, on October 3, 74-year-old disbarred lawyer Fred Hopkins fired more than 400 rounds at police after officers arrived at his residence to arrest Hopkins son, Seth Hopkins on charges of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.

During the act of terrorism, which led a to a two-hour stand-off, the villainous shooter managed to kill one officer on the scene, Terrence Carraway, was an Air Force veteran and 30-year career police officer who was known in the community as one of the bravest officers encountered in the line of duty. In addition to murdering Carraway, Hopkins managed to injure six other officers including Deputy Farrah B. Turner, a 12-year veteran, who passed away on Monday after undergoing nine surgeries and having both legs amputated as a result of the shootout.

“They got out of the car, and they were shot before they got to the door,” Richland County Sheriff Leon Lott said, according to The State. “These officers did absolutely nothing wrong. This was an ambush you can’t prevent.”

Florence County Sheriff Kenney Boone remembers Deputy Turner as a professional officer on the fast track to success.

“Farrah was the ultimate professional, excelling at everything she did,” Boone said in a news release to The State. “She dedicated her life to serving the victims of the worst crimes imaginable. Please pray for Farrah’s family, our FCSO family and for our community as we mourn her loss.”

Despite the high praises of the community and colleagues, one group is extremely quiet about the incident which is causing some supporters and the Black community to raise their brows.

Blue Lives Matter Supporters, GOP and the NRA have been silent over the incident, going to far as to not even acknowledge the incident at all. Since the standoff occurred, both candidates, officials and the organizations have yet to release a statement or offer condolences to the officers affected by the heinous crime.

Fred Hopkins was arrested following the two-hour shootout, and two days later, was charged with six counts of attempted murder and one count of murder. There is no word whether his charges will be amended following Turner’s death.

Seth Hopkins was also arrested and charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct with a minor.
