November 26th will be a day for fans of lyrically dense rap music to rejoice.
As well as J.I.D‘s anticipated DiCaprio 2 project, Black Thought will release the second volume of his Streams of Thought series, this time with producer Salaam Remi manning the boards.
The legendary Roots member has now revealed the first single off Volume 2: Traxploitation,”Conception,” with Reef Ruffin. Anchored by a Marvin Gaye sample, Thought puts the raps to the left for a surprisingly decent falsetto… albeit briefly, as he proceeds to do what he does best throughout the remainder of the song.
Easily one of the best songs you’ll hear this week, it can be heard below.
