Björk has shared her thoughts on the dominance of the music streaming market and described Spotify as "probably the worst thing that has happened to musicians".

The Icelandic artist made the comments in an interview with Swedish publication Dagens Nyheter while promoting her new concert film, Cornucopia, which is available to watch on Apple TV+.

Reflecting on how the music economy has made live touring essential for artists to maintain a steady stream of income, Björk said: "The live part is, and always will be, a big part of what I do. But I'm lucky because I no longer have to raise money on touring, which younger musicians are often forced to do. In that respect, Spotify is probably the worst thing that has happened to musicians. The streaming culture has changed an entire society and an entire generation of artists."
