Anita Baker Credits Chance the Rapper With Helping Her Regain Ownership of Her Masters

At a recent Anita Baker show at the Venetian Resort, Baker gave props to Chance the Rapper for helping her regain ownership of her masters.

André 3000 isn’t the only rapper who loves Anita Baker. During a recent show at the Venetian Resort in Las Vegas, where Baker is holding a limited show residency, the eight-time Grammy winner shouted out Chance the Rapper, who was in attendance. Acknowledging Chance, Baker shared that he helped her regain ownership of her masters, previously asking fans last year not to stream her music while she fought to receive her masters.

“You should say hello to a friend of mine, by way of the music industry, and by way of helping me, helping me to get a hold and ownership of my master recordings,” Baker told the Venetian Resort crowd while Chance stood and humbly bowed.
