They canceled two sets at the San Francisco festival

In an open letter published in the Los Angeles Times, A Tribe Called Quest have apologized for canceling two shows at Outside Lands this past weekend (as Stereogum points out). The group, who canceled both their Friday night set and another rescheduled for Saturday, say they were struck the previous night by a “wave of grief” for Phife Dawg, who died last year. Having regrouped on the Saturday, they write, “everything did not come together before the closing curfew. For that, we are deeply sorry. We look to correct this and regain your confidence.
