Champion's for Change
CUAV's 29th Anniversary Celebration

On Thursday, March 20, 2008, Community United Against Violence (CUAV) will celebrate 29 years of supporting LGBTQQ survivors of violence and building a strong movement for safety and healing.

We will honor local heroes in the LGBTQQ anti-violence movement, including writer and gay mens health advocate Michael Scarce, Stonewall veteran and community activist Miss Major, and our community partner, The El/La Transgender Latina HIV Prevention Program. Stellar entertainment will be provided by Bay Area favorites, including comedienne extraordinaire Marga Gomez, burlesque sensations Diamond Daggers and SF Boylesque, drumming troupe Taiko Ren, and DJ Olga T!

We will also supply delicious hors d'oeuvres, music to make you move, and a great opportunity to support CUAV!

Our Honorary Host Committee includes Senator Carole Migden, Assemblymember Mark Leno, Mayor Gavin Newsom, Supervisor Tom Ammiano, and Supervisor Bevan Dufty. Our Event Captains include Daniel Bao, Tara Flanagan, Johnathan Gaffney, Kevin Goebel, Nick Hodges & Russ Brent, Don St. Louis, Mary Morgan & Ari Wohlfeiler, Carter Serrett, John Warner, Andy Wong, and Terry Wright.

Generous sponsors include AAA of Northern California, AARP, Betty's List, Bingham McCutchen LLP, California Teachers Association, Center for Stress Reduction, Curve Magazine, Dolores Park Cafe, Driscoll's Mortuary, Energy 92.7, Gargalicana & Graceffa LLP, Gay.com Local Scene, Lil Somthin Somthin Catering, Martha Arredondo, Rainbow Grocery, SEIU Healthcare Workers West, Steamworks, and Whole Foods Market.

Who is Brittany Nicole – and Why You Should Know Her Now

Brittany Nicole doesn’t fit into a single lane. She’s a visual architect, a creative polymath, a storyteller who moves seamlessly between pen, lens, and mic. From childhood runways with Wilhelmina Models to commanding the frame behind the camera, Brittany has always operated at the intersection of image and impact.
