Event Description

A new Tuesday weekly Global Bass, Belly Dance and and Dancefloor night in SF featuring some of the Bay Area’s most eclectic DJs, breaking barriers of genre and culture. Weekly Belly Dance Performances by resident and guest dancers curated by Gina Grandi. Resident DJs, Guest DJs and Live Acts.

We are a collective of DJs, Dancers, Musicians and Visual Artists from various backgrounds, coming together in an effort to bring an eclectic global culture to the dancefloor. Expects Out-of-the-Ordinary when you come to Underground Nomads. Expect something different every time. Expect Underground – a place away from the mainstream.

Underground Nomads came into existence as a collaborative effort to revive SF’s World Music culture, bringing together the vibe from Cheb i Sabbah’s legendary Tuesdays at Nickie’s, The Tribal Belly Dance Thursdays and middle eastern nights (which featured Ultra Gypsy, DJ Sep, Soulsalaam, Jef Stott and more) and Jose Ruis’ World Music Fridays at El Rio, Belly Dance evenings at Amira and many more amazing regular nights that existed back in the day in SF.

Our current crew includes residents DJ Amar, DJ Sep and Dulce Vita – and honorary resident forever Cheb i Sabbah, who started the night with us and inspired us all musically. We aim to keep his music and energy alive on the dancefloor with you.

On any given night, you will find either one of our resident DJs, one of our extended family of residents like Jimmy Love, Maneesh the Twister, Janaka Selekta, Jef Stott, among others. We have brought guests from as far as Japan (Makyo) and Austria (Dunkelbunt). As we grow, our roster of musical guests will grow with us.

We begin the nights with an hour of music, followed by dance performances and open dancing to late into the night. Performers will be announced each week on the Facebook page and at www.undergroundnomads.com

The Hated Crew to Release Highly Anticipated Album “DNA” June 5th

More than just another project, DNA represents the core identity of The Hated Crew—its influences, struggles, sound, and artistic vision woven together into one cohesive body of work. The title itself reflects the idea that music is embedded in the group’s very makeup. Every track explores the elements that form their musical “genetic code”: rhythm, storytelling,…See More

Cole Lumpkin Moves With the Music, Letting Life Shape Every Note

Cole Lumpkin doesn’t create from a distance. He creates from inside the moment. As a New York City native, his artistry reflects motion, curiosity, and constant self-interrogation. Music for Lumpkin isn’t something you step into once everything is figured out. It’s something you carry with you, refine on the move, and allow to grow alongside real life. A self-taught…See More
