KARIZMA Real Name: Kris Klayton is an award winning International DJ and electronic music producer/artist from Baltimore, MD, USA, known for his wide genre of music production in deep house, deep techno, hip hop, jazz and broken beats, and his ability to master Pioneer Corporation’s CDJ-2000 and DJM 2000 being sponsored by Pioneer Pro DJ Japan in 2010.

“When he’s producing music, Klayton uses a number of aliases. As Kaytronik, he turns out records that are a bit darker, with menacing electronic tones; as K2, he creates buoyant re-edits of R. & B. songs. But as a d.j. he brings all of these characters into the booth with him.” -The New Yorker

Karizma co-founded the mighty Unruly Records imprint alongside Scottie B and Shawn Caesar, before joining the production powerhouse that was Basement Boys. Ever since 1995’s ‘Feel The Power’ 12′′, Karizma has carved out a hugely successful career, making music that is hooky and immediate enough to appeal to a commercial audience without compromising its underground attitude. Over the years he has released records on labels as diverse as Defected, Strictly Rhythm, his own Kohesive Recordings, and eventually finding a home with R2 Records. It was through this imprint that he released the 2007 LP “A Mind Of Its Own” and its 2009 “Up- grade”, as well as irresistible singles like ‘Neccessarry Maddness’ and ‘Groove A ‘K’ Ordingly’, which were said to be one of the greatest house tracks of the last ten years (Fact Magazine). Karizma’s third solo album “Wall of Sound” was released in 2013 and it ranked in Top 10 immediately after its release, and remained for the following 6 months (Kaytronik.com). Karizma’s Kaytronik Ruff Kut Mix of “Sunday Morning” of Seven Davis Jr was also selected on Defected presents Most Rated 2016 that we can expect a great response to the upcoming release of the “Kaytronik Thee Album” on R2 Records.

Prentice Grant: From Vauxhall to Legacy — The Rise of an Independent Hip-Hop Force

The first time Prentice Grant realized music could change his life, he was just a kid in Vauxhall, New Jersey, staring at the TV.
