Event Description

Pam the Funkstress and DJ BackSide have joined forces for an open forum of eclectic Soul, Hip Hop and Funk in celebration of trail-blazing women both documented and unsung! With MC Inkfat. ♥

Their first party together kicks of at Madrone Art Bar, featuring specialty cocktails with an emphasis on creative, fresh blends of healthy fruits and flavors with unhealthy spirits of all kinds. Try the"Morris Day”-- Gin, St Germain, Dash of... Fernet and lemon--yummers and mind-erasing.

In addition to a dance floor-shaking night, its our hope that women enjoying Pam the Funkstress’ and DJ BackSide’s DJ prowess will feel confident to pick up the mic, get behind the turn table--pursue what makes their heart sing without fear, with this quote in mind:

“Everyone needs role models — footsteps enough like our own to inspire us... For all of us, knowledge of women’s strengths and contributions builds respect and nourishes self-esteem — crucial to all children and adults now, and in the years to come.” – The National Women’s History Project
