Event Description

SAT - 4/24 | Native Elements
A Bay Area's Top Reggae Band · 10pm show / $10 door til 10pm $15 after

San Francisco's reggae favorite Native Elements (now in their 10th year as a cohesive unit) never fail to bring positivity and niceness to all of their music gatherings. As recording artist's they spin a curious fabric of lovers rock, roots and conscious dancehall wrapped cozily in a bright "frisco-pino" treatment. A family before anything else Native Elements strives to make their show a warm and inviting experience for all; young and old, blue and green and everything in between.

Native Elements are a collective of musicians and singers who have been performing professionally in different settings for over a decade. The culturally diverse music scene of the San Francisco Bay Area has fueled their creative flow from the start. After explorations with rock, funk, blues, and r&b, Native Elements has set their repertoire firmly in the roots-reggae tradition. They combine their colorful influences into an amalgamation of positive, vibrant music that speaks from the heart.

The magnetic music of Native Elements has been emanating from Bay Area clubs and outdoor festivals, for many years with Humboldts world renowned "Reggae on the River", San Franciscos "Reggae in the Park", and the "Monterey Bay ReggaeFest" festivals being the most recent. They have shared the stage with a host of world renowned acts including Bunny Wailer, Burning Spear, Culture, Toots & the Maytals, Black Uhuru, Pato Banton, Lucky Dube, Eek a Mouse, Yellowman, Big Mountain, and Gregory Isaacs among many others. Recently, featured on the DEBUT movie soundtrack, Native Elements has been reaching audiences around the globe with their conscious music. Their contagious harmonies and powerful rhythms have won over praise from musicians, fans and critics alike. Even some of the most discriminating Jamaican ears have found Native Elements' sound to be as authentic and genuine as their staple of music back home.

In 2009 the Native Elements Band released their third album “Sign of the Times” which features The Mighty Diamonds on the title track. The diversity of singing and melodic universal rhythms bring forth a fresh element of native, roots reggae to the Bay Area music scene.
