Referred to as "one of the last true MCs left," by conscious rap star and label mate, Talib Kweli, Jean Grae is a lyrical grand master on the mic and she will be performing live on stage at the East Bay’s hottest live music club, the New Parish in Oakland. With her new album, Cake or Death on the way and Mr. Len of Company Flow ably manning the decks, Grae’s stage show promises to be witty, animated and exhilarating.

Born in Cape Town, South Africa and raised in the concrete jungle of New York City to renowned Jazz musician parents, Grae has spent the better part of the last two decades generating a reputation as one of the quickest witted MCs in showbiz, often referred to as hip-hop’s best female rapper. Grae’s catalog includes tracks with a who’s who of hip-hop heavyweights including Atmosphere, The Roots, Talib Kweli, Phonte, Mos Def, Pharoahe Monch and Immortal Technique among them. She recently released Jeanius a collaborative effort with leading hip-hop producer 9th Wonder.
