On Friday, November 15th Mighty and Derek Hena present an exclusive one-night-only performance by Masters at Work, Louie Vega side by side with Kenny Dope for a Bay Area exclusive extended set.

Masters at Work is the house/garage production and remix team of "Little" Louie Vega and Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez. They first worked together using the name, which had been given to them by mutual friend Todd Terry (who recorded several tracks under that name in the 1980s), in 1990. The duo has also produced music together under the names MAW, KenLou, Sole Fusion, and Nuyorican Soul.

Their Nuyorican Soul project had the duo working extensively with real (as opposed to sampled or synthesized) musicians, in a variety of styles including Latin, disco, jazz, and more. Musicians who took part in this project include Vincent Montana Jr., Roy Ayers, George Benson, Jocelyn Brown, Tito Puente, and members of the Salsoul Orchestra. MAW has a history as remixers, having reproduced tracks for various acts both inside and outside the world of dance music. Some of the artists remixed by the two producers include Michael Jackson, Madonna, Donna Summer, Gus Gus, Jody Watley, Janet Jackson, Jamiroquai, Earth Wind & Fire, and Stephanie Mills.

It is a rare event when these two join forces together and in such an intimate setting as Mighty, a venue that routinely hosts some of the world’s top DJ and musical talent. Opening the evening is Proof (Massive Selector) with his signature brand of funky, and groovy house beats. MASSIVE SELECTOR is a San Francisco based collective of artists, DJs, free thinkers, and corporate refugees who have a shared passion for art, music and underground culture. MASSIVE SELECTOR is dedicated to infusing an urban aesthetic into its design, event production, marketing, promotion, and media projects. Through each project, they aim to motivate, build and cultivate a Left Coast community. They are “selectors for the masses”.

Following Proof is Mighty resident DJ Shortkut (Triple Threat/Invisbl Skratch Piklz who will be spinning a special house music set surely to get you in the mood for the MAW extended set.

Outside Silent Disco will be on Red Bull's MXT vehicle outfitted with a state of the art DJ booth and will feature Dj sets by King Size Slap (Carlos Tino & Frankie Jr.) spinning their signature deep, funky, and soulful house. Joining them will also be Bay Area's own Ren the Vinyl Archeologist (True Skool) spinning house, disco, hip-hop and more.

Open bar from 9pm-10pm with Red Bull and vodka specials too! There will be free delicious bites of gourmet cuisine in Mighty's side room prepared by SF's Chef Hena while they last.

Mighty is 21+ for all events.
119 Utah St, SF, CA 94103
All tickets are non-refundable, and non-transferable.
