Halloween weekend promises to be filled with ghouls, goblins, tricks and treats galore – and a lot of subpar events clamoring for your attention. But one party stands head and shoulders above all the rest: “A Nightmare on 6th Street.” With three separate rooms of live entertainment and DJs, plus drink specials, giveaways, and a costume contes...t..., there’s simply no reason to be anywhere else on Saturday night!

Presented by DeeCee’s Soul Shakedown—one of the Bay Area and Northern California’s most trusted and respected party promoters—“A Nightmare on 6th Street” features live performances by four up-and-coming local artists: the Young Mars Project, which mixes rap, reggae and rock into an infectious blend of NorCal grooves; My Peoples, a reggae-funk-hip-hop outfit known for their “mahalo” vibes and odes to “Pakalolo”; Hopie, SF’s most buzzworthy, lyrically-talented female emcee, currently riding high on the wave of her just-released 2nd album, Raw Gems; and Humboldt County native sons Ishi Dube & Messenger Selah, performing a set of organic homegrown reggae, backed by selecta Jah Yzer.

“A Nightmare on 6th Street” also features the Bay Area and Northern Cali’s best, most famed crowd-pleasers, spinning reggae, dancehall, international, hip-hop, and remixes. The top-notch DJ lineup includes: Sake 1 (Local 1200/PST/UltraWave); Jah Yzer (Jah Warrior Shelter Hi-Fi); D-Sharp (Quannum Projects/Flipsyde); Smoky (One Blood/King of Kings); One Wise Sound (Humboldt Co.), Vinny Ras (Cosmic Vibes), Daneekah (Coo-Yah Ladies); DJ Jacque (WBLK massive); Sean G (Block Party), and Ant One (Wild N Crazy Kids).
Rounding out the festivities will be a costume contest; prizes and giveaways; free healthy food courtesy of Papalote; and 2 for 1 drinks from 9:00-10:30pm. For free guestlist (b4 10pm), RSVP to www.dcsoulshakedown.com.

It all goes down Saturday, October 29th at Club Six, San Francisco’s premier SoMA nightspot (voted 2011’s “Best Hip Hop Club” by the SF Bay Guardian). Come in costume, come to dance, come to chill, or come to vibe, but most of all, come to have a good time!
