This will be a celebration of Women's contributions in Hip Hop! Some of us remember the early 80s and 90s when MC Sha Rock, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah and many more were putting it down for the culture. It seems these days any female in Hip Hop is forced to be a sex symbol and we too often hear narratives that perpetuate patriarchy and misogyny. HipHopForChange's fight for the culture must include lifting up our sisters and providing a space for the diverse and powerful female voice!
