DETAILS: The Herbaliser are all about moving forward, onward and upward. Bonding over a shared love of jazz, funk, rare groove and hip-hop in the early 1990s, West London duo Jake Wherry and Ollie Teeba have evolved with each chapter in their 15-year story. First it was the Ninja Tune era with instrumental beats, breaks and samples. Then they added guest rappers and vocalists. Later, as international festival favorites, their line-up swelled into a mini-orchestra with lush arrangements to match. On their latest album, Same As It Never Was, The Herbaliser hit a dazzling new peak. With a new label, a new main vocalist, and a new focus on soulful songwriting, this is their richest and most diverse record so far. A timeless modern soul record, it should appeal not just to specialist fans but also to a new generation seduced by the knowing pop-soul nostalgia of Amy Winehouse or Mark Ronson. Glossy and gritty, organic and eclectic, Same As It Never Was builds on the band's hip-hop roots with jazz, funk, R&B, pop and instrumental soundtrack influences. Co-Founder Ollie Teeba’s Dj sets are similarly eclectic and funky, so on his first SF appearance in more than 5 years, expect the unexpected.

Taking care of business worldwide and hailing from San Francisco, CA, J–Boogie is the man to call when the party needs that special sauce. Long recognized as one of the hardest working and most soulful DJs/producers in the Bay, J–Boogie takes his musical paths to the next level with his signature blend of dub, soul, hip–hop, dancehall, funk, latin, afrobeat and house creating a spicy musical gumbo. This mix master always brings the flavor to the tables, so lean back, relax your mind and have a bite of some tasty beats. For over 10 years, J–Boogie has honed his craft as an artist in the Bay Area music scene, both in clubs & on the radio with the award–winning program "Beatsauce" on KUSF 90.3fm. Voted "San Francisco´s Best Radio & Club DJ" by citysearch.com and "Best Hip–Hop Radio Show" by SF Bay Guardian, J–Boogie consistently delivers the goods with smokin, sexy, party–rockin DJ sets.

For more than 10 years, San Francisco producer/dj/turntablist/impresario/journalist Motion Potion (Robbie Kowal) has been stirring up a rich gumbo of music and enriching the lives of thousands. "MoPo" was a music blogger before there were "blogs", a masher before there were "mashups", and an independent visionary before the term "indie" applied to DJs. Best known to his San Francisco brethren as a quasi-religious defender of the ancient art of funk, MoPo has DJ'd over a thousand nights and over 500 concerts, festivals, and parties including the San Francisco Funk Festival, North Beach Jazz Fest, FestForward and Festival of the Golden Gate. In 2008, MoPo played three marathon sets to mark his 6th consecutive year at Bonnaroo Festival. He will also play 6 times at the inaugural Rothbury Festival, plus Raindance, Burning Man, Minneapalooza and tours of Canada, the Rockies, Holland, Germany and the UK. MoPo has performed live with funk legends like George Clinton & Parliament-Funkadelic, Soulive, Rebirth Brass Band, Kurtis Blow, and the New Mastersounds and is the turntablist for the indie techno circus the Mutaytor. He has shared bills with a range of artists as eclectic as his taste, from Femi Kuti to Sheryl Crow, to Widespread Panic to Isaac Hayes, to STS9 to Grandmaster Flash.
