The rapper and producer of hip hop known as TK Mafioso has released his latest official single, “Ordinary Rapper.” The track has been proudly published on the C&C Entertainment Firm LLC music label without the direction of the corporate music industry. Pounding, aggressive, and bringing the grit of nonfiction urban poetry the way only he can, “Ordinary Rapper” stands as evidence that TK Mafioso is anything but.
Omaha, Nebraska's TK Mafioso cites as main artistic influences Tupac Shakur, Trae the Truth, and Z-ro. He has been writing, performing and recording original music since 2010, not long after having been introduced to the gangsta sound by his sister, Lonnie Poo. Mafioso has said that “the realness, the struggle, and the storytelling” were also integral to his start as a music artist.
Asked to describe the general themes of his new “Ordinary Rapper” single, TK Mafioso writes, “I explain my lifestyle and what it was like growing up in the ghetto: the struggles, splurging, being successful, and loved ones.”
TK Mafioso has described his sound as “struggle, pain, love and family. Music for the streets.”
He notes also that “My style became more humble and less violent after my five-year-old daughter was born. My style has gone from one of struggle to one of hope. My daughter changed my life!”
Fans of TK Mafioso have come to expect lyrics which ring true to the rapper's own life, lines and rhymes which don't just evoke an atmosphere, but rather serve as Mafioso's testimony as to how he's lived and continues to live. The characters are real. The incidents have occurred.
“When you rap about real-life things,” he writes, “your music lasts longer!”
“Ordinary Rapper” by TK Mafioso is available from over 600 quality digital music artists online worldwide now.
