Independent Chicks Ent. A Legacy Of Empowerment In Independent Music

What began in 2013 as a personal mission for Kaylee Sidris, lovingly known as Kay, has grown into a respected brand in the independent music scene. Independent Chicks Ent. was built with one goal in mind—to push talented family members to their highest potential through music. Inspired by the unwavering drive of two Black women, the movement was born from love, purpose, and the belief that greatness can rise without industry backing.

Social media became their battleground, and they wasted no time mastering the terrain. As platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok transformed how artists connected with fans, Independent Chicks Ent. used that momentum to create real opportunities. The team didn’t just promote music—they built spaces for it to live and thrive. From talent showcases and podcasts to an online radio station and full-scale festivals, they gave indie artists places to shine.

Every step in their journey brought lessons. Not every show was a hit. Not every plan played out perfectly. But that didn’t stop the mission. Through trial, error, and relentless consistency, Kay and her crew figured out how to win—and how to keep winning. They discovered that social media isn’t just about visibility; it’s about building a tribe. It’s about showing up with intention every day and helping artists stay inspired even when the grind gets tough.

Their efforts didn’t go unnoticed. Independent Chicks Ent. was nominated for Marketer of the Year at the 2019 North Mississippi Music Awards and Industry Judge of the Year at the 2020 Hood Idol Awards. They hosted multiple mixtapes, including one for Memphis legend La’Chat, launched a successful online radio station via Live365 that now reaches international audiences, and created the Indie Music & Food Festival in Hattiesburg, Mississippi in 2022. That same year they were recognized with the SSC Team Award and later earned a 2023 SEA nomination.

Independent Chicks Ent. stands for belief—belief in talent, in the power of visibility, and in the value of real support. They've grown far beyond their original roots and continue to be a trusted name in the indie community. For every artist looking for a team that sees their worth and knows how to move with purpose, Independent Chicks Ent. is a name you can trust.
