Stretch L is a hip hop traditionalist who grew up during the Golden Era of Rap Music. As a college graduate and Iraq War veteran, he uses his platform to address social issues using his experiences as his guide. He is a disciple of Parliament-Funkadelic and funk music in general.

His rap influences include EPMD, Redman, Busta Rhymes, Common, Ice Cube, and other Golden Era rappers who thrived off punch lines, metaphors, and puns. Stretch L. considers himself a God-Bashing Liberal and it comes out unapologetically in his music. Musically, Stretch L is produced by Spyda the Wise Musician and Naughtee.
